Really excited to announce that I have teamed up with the wonderful Female Entrepreneurs of #MeetMeForCoffee as part of the R. Kristi brand. I’ve always believed that women should stick together, encourage one another, as well as build a support system that will boost our brands.

I love when I stumble dope artists that I’ve never heard of before. If you close your eyes this artist’s ethnicity/race wouldn’t be recognizable; with the exception of the opening bars.

Music is universal, it’s colorful yet colorless, it’s metaphors spin tales of ones life or stories that have been passed down. Lyricks ‘Can’t Breathe’ track speaks volumes even 1 year later…

Pharoahe Monch releases retrospective set ‘Lost In Translation’

Pharoahe Monch Lost in Translation cover

Pharoahe Monch Lost in Translation back cover

Pharoahe Monch’s Lost In Translation” is a collection of previously released songs from his solo albums as well as features from 2000 to 2015.  Love being the consistent theme birthed the decision for a Valentine’s Day 2015 release. Featured on this set are appearances from Justin Timberlake, Jill Scott, Eric Roberson, dEnAuN, Brandon Williams, Sergio Mendes, Will.I.Am, Robert Glasper, Sa Ra, and Mela Machinko.  The set also features one new track “Home (HGH)” featuring Phonte’ and Tamisha.

The title (taken from the film staring Bill Murray and Scarlet Johansen) is alluding to the fact that many of these songs have gone undiscovered by the public at large and more importantly Pharoahe’s direct fan base.  W.A.R Media presents Pharoahe’s love letter to his fans on this day of love.

BET Hip Hop Awards Weekend Re-Cap

Greetings my good people! I hope you had a productive, peaceful and well rested weekend! Ours was productive one, not so peaceful or full of rest BUT it was productive!

We started our weekend with trip delays which caused me to miss out on some of the earlier, private events that we were invited to. Thanks to our network we were able to get photos from a few of the festivities and also get some inside “Celebrity” gossip!!

First things first, if you weren’t already aware we released a compilation mixtape, The Elite Tapes: Vol. 1 BET Hip Hop Awards Edition,  featuring Various Artists from Ohio, Louisiana, and Georgia. 100’s of copies flooded the streets and we’re more than likely going to press up more copies for A3C. (See our next post for DL info)

Now onto to Celeb sightings and gossip: all of the who’s who of Atlanta Housewives of Love and Hip Hop walked the green carpet as well other artists and celebs who attended weekend events. Shad Moss aka Bow Wow attended the Hip Hop Awards with his now fiance’ Erica Mena. Joseline and Stevie J were in attendance and her wi…er hair was the tea. Tiny Harris, Young Thug, Ginuwine, Ricky Smiley, SWV, Dru Hill, TI, Kandi Burress, Lil Scrappy and his daughter Emani were in attendance just to name a few. As if having the BET Hip Hop Awards in the city wasn’t enough, there was a Mid-Town concert with the like of B.O.B, Lana Del Ray and Eminem hitting the stage!!

The Mp3Waxx Producers and DJs Appreciation Luncheon was also in full effect. Cleveland’s own DJ Johnny O was given a special honor as well as many other industry heavy hitters.

The D.rugs Store had several artists and people in attendance with their outside showcase in front of their store.

As I stated it was an action packed weekend!! BIG shoutout to the Core DJs, Makin’ It Magazine, The Style Luxe PR, and Star Quality Firm for the event invites.
