Sprucing Up For Spring

Sprucing Up For Spring

The colder months are slipping behind us and spaghetti straps are up ahead! It’s time to prep our skin and style for the arrival of warmer days and nights. Here are three Julep faves for a style spring clean.

Julep's Tuesday Tip: Transition from Winter to Spring

  • Shop Your Closet

  • While we all adore shopping for our closet, we love using the transitional season to shop in our closet. Spring needn’t be about a style overhaul. Like the season itself, it’s just easy pops of color in between winter’s darks and summer’s flirty lights. This year, keep a special eye open for neglected brights in your closet’s dim corners, because Spring 2013 is all about turning that dab of color UP. Look for brightly hued scarves or jewelry (we found some in our “costume box”). Also, color saturated tights and flats? YES.
  • Thrifty Bonus: Saving money by rediscovering & re-imagining forgotten pieces is a great way plump your budget for the scrubs, sprays, primers, and polishes that brighten our locks and looks for essential springtime shine.

Skin Grin

If you haven’t yet treated your skin, hair, and nails to 100% pure Argan oil, our Elixir Organic Argan Oil is the path to en-brighten-ment. It’s packed with fatty acids that protect skin from free radicals, and boasts tons of vitamins A and E which work healing wonders from face to feet. Super lightweight and great for daily moisturizing, it’s equally magic for both dry and oily skin. Elixir Organic Argan Oil is a little bottle of miracles just in time for shoulder baring season.

A Skinsational DIY. Speaking of Argan oil, when you’re ready to slough off the dead skin of winter, here’s a super simple, Julep-approved body scrub recipe with an extra dose of luxury that’ll make you feel skintastic:

Combine two parts sugar (use brown sugar for extra sensitive skin) with one part jojoba oil. Add one or two full droppers of Elixir Organic Argan Oil. You’ll scrub away the old and leave behind a dewy new all at once. Watch out, world.

Demure Digits

Pastels are the perfect way to bring your nails into the new season without going over the top. This neutral-alternative looks amazing on all skin tones and can be paired with your neon accents without looking garish. Find your perfect match from pink to yellow to blue.
